Failte Isteach is a community project involving mostly older volunteers welcoming migrants through conversational English classes.
The Failte Isteach classes are generally run both morning and evening groups for all ages and nationalities. Come join us and enjoy learning English in a relaxed and fun environment. We are always looking for volunteers who like to chat and find out about different cultures, if that’s you then please get in contact with us to volunteer one or two hours a week.

What is Failte Isteach?
FI is a spoken English class.
It helps people whose first language is not English to speak more confidently and understand everyday English in Ireland.
During the classes, participants:
- Practice conversations for real-life situations (in shops, at work, at school, etc.),
- Learn new words and expressions commonly used in Ireland,
- Get to know Irish culture and traditions, and share your own cultural experiences with others.
The course is open to all language levels and takes place in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Who is Failte Isteach for?
The program is for anyone whose first language is not English.
It is especially useful for migrants, newcomers to Ireland, and family members who want to:
improve their spoken English,
better understand everyday English,
feel more confident when communicating at school, work, and in the community.
Where is Failte Isteach ran?
Failte Isteach Conversational English classes are held:
Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Trim FRC Bungalow, 15 Wellington Avenue, Trim, C15FC03,
Fridays from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Trim Library.

How much is Failte Isteach?
The classes are free of charge, but voluntary donations of €2 per class are welcome.
Do I need to register?
Yes, it is recommended to register in advance so we can prepare materials and space for all participants.

What happens at Failte Isteach?
At Failte Isteach, participants practice spoken English in a friendly and supportive environment.
