Family Support in Trim FRC

The saying goes “it takes a village to raise a child” and this has its basis in truth – the wider support from grandparents, extended family and friends is hugely beneficial to a family. What happens though if you have no “village”? Or if your family’s difficulties become just too difficult to cope with? This is where Family Support may be able to help. As part of the Beacon Family Support Project, our part time Family Support Worker works on a one to one basis with families, to help them cope with a wide variety of issues, including parenting support, accessing services, budgeting or difficulties around school.

Services such as the GP or school can make an enquiry for a family, or a parent can contact us directly for advice about a referral. Trim FRC also offers informal, family support via our Community Development worker, Caroline.
