Parent Support Group

Trim Family Resource Centre host a Parents Support Group that meets once a month for parents of children and young people with a disability/additional needs.

The group was set up in 2021 with a view to providing parents/caregivers with an opportunity to meet and get information, advice and support for themselves and their children/young people. The group offers a relaxed, informal space where parents can access and share information and resources that they have found helpful and discuss any concerns they may have.

Meetings take place once a month and are led by two Family Support workers, Caroline Morris and Maryrose Williams. Thanks to some funding from the DECDIY ‘Supporting Parents’ fund, the group has previously organised:

  • Parent/Carers Information sessions
  • Webinars
  • Parent self-care events
  • Coffee mornings

More events are planned for Autumn/Winter 2024 and details of upcoming meetings and events can be found on Trim FRC Facebook page and on the Parent Support Group’s Instagram page at parentsupportgroup_meath

You can also join our Parent Support Group email list by emailing maryrose@trimfrc.ie or caroline@trimfrc.ie
