In the past Trim FRC supported local men with the set-up of Trim Men’s Shed and now this is an independent and thriving community group renting separate premises where we love to pop over for a chat and tea (famous and best cup of tea in town!) – stories we get to hear and share are great ways of finding out what supports men need. According to the research carried out by Samaritans:
“There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach when it comes to appealing to and supporting men. Many of the men not being drawn to stereotypically ‘male’
activities gravitate towards hobby-based activities focused on meeting general wellbeing needs, rather than formal mental health or crisis services.” With this in mind we are curious to hear from local men about how we can support them in setting new initiatives aimed at involving men in our community.
